Reference releases; update vs. upgrade

Mac OS X v10.1, 10.2, 10.3, 10.4, 10.5 themselves are not downloadable updates, they are reference releases, also called upgrades. This means, for example, you can't upgrade from Mac OS X v10.3 to Mac OS X v10.5 via a downloadable installer. Reference releases are available from the Apple Store online, Apple Retail Stores, andApple Authorized Distributors (AAD). This also true on Microsofts side as well when Microsoft Launches a new version of Windows you cannot download it via a downloadable installer unless it is setup install the complete operating system from the installer. Most of the time you have to go out and buy the current microsoft windows operating system.

64-Bit.
Both Microsoft Windows and Apple 10.6 Operating Systems Are now built on a 64-bit Chip set which takes advantage of up to 32 gigabytes of RAM as of right now but that could change as boards and parts get better every year.

Stay Tuned Tomorrows Tip Will be on how to update your other
Software that is not feature in Windows Update on your Windows Computer
or Software Update on your Mac.
